Just about everyone knows that the Father of our Country had wooden teeth. I wonder if that’s why we’ve made February – National Pet Dental Care Month. The idea of a set of wooden chompers sure gives you an image of what happens when dental care isn’t the best. But you don’t have to be a white-haired revolutionary general to have dental problems. In fact, over 80% of dogs over the age of three have some form of dental disease. That’s 4 out of 5 dogs at the park suffering from infection, pain, loose teeth, and inflammation.
News to you? Just how much do you know about your pet’s dental health? Try this quiz from the American Veterinary Medical Association:
So, how did you do on the quiz?
If you’re a dental rock star, get out there and tell all your pet-owning friends and family about dental health care. If instead, you struggled through the quiz like that last final exam, here’s some information on how to brush your dog’s or cat’s teeth.
